When you have solved the problem of sound insulation and absorption, have you found that the sound becomes "clean", but also somewhat "flattened" "rigid"? Especially in concert halls, recording studios or high-end home theaters, there is always a sense of lack of that vibrant sense of space and surround. This because excessive absorption will take away the "vitality" of the space. And diffusion is the "sculptor" and "harmonizer" of sound.
